Reds Storm Back to Beat Indians In Spring Opener

Oh yeah, the Reds are back and while they needed six runs in the final two frames, they pulled out the 7-6 win over their spring training complex sharing rival, the Cleveland Indians.  Dave Sappelt and Chris Valaika both homered in the big eighth inning while Zach Cozart went two for two with a run and an RBI.

Matt Maloney and Sam LeCure got the Reds off to a good start with two shutout frames each but then things got a little crazy.  Donnie Joseph was pummeled and he gave up most of the damage with five earned runs.  Carlos Fisher also had a tough time and he gave up a run on three hits in his one inning of work.

It’s the Indians again today. Bronson Arroyo and Aroldis Chapman will see some time on the mound as will Dontrelle Willis.  Gametime is 3:05.    Also, single game Reds tickets are on sale now.  Get them while they’re still around.
