Reds Lose to Phillies In the Ninth

Man, this was a tough one.  The Reds led as late as the sixth inning and then David Weathers gave up a run in the ninth to lose it.  In the end, Homer Bailey’s third straight solid start (I think he’s finally starting to get it) went to waste.  he gave up two runs on seven hits with six strikeouts in six innings.  For Weathers, the loss dropped him to 1-2.

Laynce Nix and Ramon Hernandez both singled and drove in runs in the loss.  All six hits were singles as it was another punchless games from the Reds.

The loss once again puts the Reds below .500.  It also drops them into a tie for fourth with the Astros.  Micah Owings throws tomorrow as the Reds look to salvage a split in the series with the Phillies.  The venerable Jamie Moyer throws for the Phillies.
