Adam Dunn Drives In Five

Yeah, I know, it’s been a while.  And the help is dropping the ball too.  That’s what you get when you work for a big time corporation.  I wonder when I’m going to start getting paid.  Maybe when I write consistently for a decent period of time.

The Reds playoff chances are about nil (no, really, the chances are less then 1%) but that doesn’t stop them from keeping on the good fight.  Adam Dunn belted his 29th homerun and we may yet get to see him hit 50.  You just wonder what team those last 20 or so will be for.  He also drove in five and while his batting average is still below .240, he’s well on his way to another 40 homer, 100 walk, 100 run (okay, he might fall short with the runs) and 100 RBI season.  He also has a good shot at breaking his career .956 OPS mark.

And what about Edinson Volquez.  The last time the Reds had a Cy Young winner was, well, never.  Wow, the Reds have never had a Cy Young winner.  Then again, if you look at their Hall of Famers, most of them are position players and a lot of the ones that made it into the Hall only played with the Reds for a short time.

Next up for Cincy are the Rockies.  Hey, they’re worse then we are.  I like our chances this weekend.
