Cincinnati dropped all 3 games in the series against the LA Dodgers. The final loss of the series makes it 5 losses in a row for the Reds. They now look at a record of 33-41 and continue to round out the bottom of the NL Central.
The offense had a solid game for Cincy but it wasn’t enough. They recorded a 4 run 7th inning to get themselves back into the game but they were already down 6 runs. Brandon Phillips led the way for the Reds despite the losing effort. He went 2-for-5 with 2 RBI. He has his batting average up to .268 with a total of 41 RBI. Paul Bako also chipped in for an RBI going 1-for- with a run scored. His batting average now stands at .241 with 21 RBI.
Aaron Harang took the mound for the Reds and had an okay afternoon. He worked 5 innings allowing 10 hits, 5 runs, all earned, 3 walks and 2 Ks. He was given the loss for his effort bringing his record to 3-10 with a 4.33 ERA. The next 4 relievers that came in had better luck as they only allowed a combined 4 hits, and 2 runs. They struck out 4 as well but were unable to keep the Dodgers down.
A terrible series for the Reds as they once again lose a series. They will now open up a set with the New York Yankees on Friday.
