« See Ya Wayne | Bronson Arroyo Picks Up First Win, Cardinals Go Down »

Reds Score Ten Again

For the second straight night, the Reds put a pair of numbers in the run column instead of just with a 10-1 pasting in their final against the Reds. It’s nice to win a series because it’s been a while and it was also nice to see Edinson Volquez improve to 4-0. In the meantime, Barry Zito fell to an ugly 0-6. What happened to that guy.

Adam Dunn sat this one out but Brandon Phillips picked up the power bat with a pair of long balls. He drove in three and scored three while Ryan Freel went two for five with two runs and two RBIs.

Volquez struck out ten in seven solid frames. He gave up just one run on five hits and three walks. His ERA of 1.23 looks very nice as well.

Next up are the second place Cardinals in St. Louis. Bronson Arroyo gets the nod against Todd Wellemeyer in the opener tomorrow night.
