« Reds Sign Corey Patterson, Jerry Hairston, Jr. | Six Run Inning Enough For Reds Win »

Brandon Phillips a One Man Show In Reds Loss

The good news is, Johnny Cueto came closer to securing a spot in the Reds rotation today with three shutout innings.  The bad news is, the rest of the bunch got shelled.  Richie Gardner got one batter out yet gave up seven runs while Scott Sauerbeck gave up four.

Brandon Phillips had a mucho grande day.  He went two for two with a three run blast in the first inning.  Paul Bako was the only Red with two hits in the contest.

Tomorrow is a rematch between the Reds and Pirates.  Bronson Arroyo takes the mound and he’ll see if he can get the Reds back on track.  It’s a night game so that’ll be cool.
