Sarasota Too Little Too Late

Well, Sarasota finally got it done. They approved a $17.6 million renovation plan that will help get Ed Smith Stadium back into the 21st century but in the meantime, the deal might have come about a month too late. The Reds are still in their exclusive negotiating window with Goodyear in a move that could put the Reds spring training in the cactus league. My guess is, Sarasota’s last ditch effort will prove fruitless, although they will need to get Ed Smith Stadium ready if they want to court another team.
