You can’t blame Jerry Narron for leaving Aaron Harang in the game for 120 pitches. It was a couple batters too long, however as the Rockies took the lead and beat the Reds, despite Cincinnati scoring seven runs. It was ugliness in a lot of fashions - the Rockies hit some home runs, the Reds left an eye-popping 20 men on base, Griffey had yet another error in right field and great offensive games by Freel and Josh Hamilton were wasted.
One day after asking for more Victor Santos (I didn’t quite say it like I wanted more cowbell, but it was close), Santos gives up three earned runs in 1/3 of an inning. Whooo! I can sure call them. Coffey continues to struggle. I don’t know what else Narron can do - he has to use his bullpen, but he’s got to feel like he’s walking through a minefield every time he goes to the mound.
