Kirk Saarloos Has Solid Outing in Reds Loss

Yeah, the Reds lost but there’s some good to take out of it. Kirk Saarloos pitched the final three frames and while he gave up an unearned run enroute to a loss, he struck out four and gave up only three hits with no walks. Matt Belisle wasn’t too bad either. He gave up two runs on four hits with three strikeouts in four frames.

There’s not much to say about the offense. Drew Stubbs had two hits and a run and Josh Hamilton had the only extra base hit of the game for the Reds with a triple.

Next up is the Red Sox and the games on ESPN today in less then two hours. Dice-K will be on national TV against the Reds while Bobby Livingston will get the start for the Reds.
