Reds Shut Down at the Plate in Loss to Padres

September 29, 1976 at San Diego Stadium 

Padres 6, Reds 1  (100-59)

Padres starter Brent Strom held the Reds to a single run on only three hits in a loss to the Padres.  Tony Petez drove home George Foster in the eighth inning to account for the only Reds’ run.

Fred Norman gave up six runs (five earned) on five hits and three walks.  He dropped to 12-7 on the season.
