Pat Zachry Pitches Reds to Second Straight Win

September 21, 1976 at Riverfront Stadium

Reds 9, Padres 1  (97-55)

The Reds hammered the Padres to the tune of nine runs on twelve hits in their 97th win of the season.  George Foster came a homerun short of hitting for the cycle and he scored twice and drove in two runs.  Joe Morgan had two hits, two runs and an RBI while Pete Rose and Ken Griffey both scored twice.

Pat Zachry was impressive in his fourteenth win of the season.  He gave up only a single run (unearned) on eight hits and three walks with nine strikeouts.
