Don Gullett Shuts Down Giants In Reds Third Straight Win

Reds 4, Giants 1  (91-51)

The Reds continued their winning ways behind a three hitter by Don Gullett and the pen.  Gullett improved to 8-3 on the season and gave up a single run on seven hits and five walks.  Rawly Eastwick threw a perfect ninth and struck out two to earn his 21st save of the season.

Pete Rose came a homerun short of hitting for the cycle and he drove in two runs.  Pinch hitter Mike Lum singled and drove in two runs.  Bill Plummer went a perfect two for two with a run.
