Fred Norman Strikes Out Eleven in Loss to Cubs

Cubs 3, Reds 2  (79-45)

The Reds tried to come back from a three run deficit but just short in their loss to the Cubs.  Fred Norman dropped his second straight start despite striking out 11 Cubs.  He gave up three runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks in eight innings of work.

Joe Morgan hit his 22nd homerun of the season and had two of the Reds’ seven hits.  Pete Rose had two singles.
