Pete Rose Gets it Done in Extra Inning Win Over Braves

August 19, 1976 at Riverfront Stadium 

Reds 3, Braves 2  (78-44)

Pat Zachry gave up two runs in the top of the first inning but the Braves didn’t score the rest of the game as the Reds edged the Braves in eleven innings.  Pete Rose singled home Cesar Geronimo in the second and then Rose tripled and scored on an error in the seventh inning.

Neither team scored in the tenth, but the Reds ended it in the eleventh when Mike Lum singled home Tony PerezWill McEnaney and Pedro Borbon threw two shutout innings each to close out the game.  Borbon picked up the win and he improved to 3-2.
