George Foster Homers Twice in Series Clincher Over Cubs

August 12, 1976 at Wrigley Field 

Reds 8, Cubs 3  (75-40)

The Reds won their three game series over the Cubs with four homeruns.  George Foster led the way with two homeruns and four RBIs.  His season total is now at 26.  Joe Morgan hit his 21st and scored two runs and Johnny Bench went yard with his twelth of the season.

Manny Sarmiento improved to a perfect 2-0 over his career with a shutout inning of relief.  Santo Alcala started the game and did get a decision.  he gave up three runs on five hits in six innings of work.  Rawly Eastwick went two innings and earned his fifteenth save of the season.
