Reds Sweep Four Game Series With Dodgers

August 8, 1976 at Dodgers Stadium

Reds 3, Dodgers 2  (73-39)

The Reds finished a four game sweep over the Dodgers behind a strong outing by Jack Billingham.  Billingham fell one batter short of a complete game and gave up two runs on five hits and three walks.  The two runs he gave up were solo homers and he improved to 9-8 on the season.  Rawly Eastwick got the final batter of the game out to earn his fourteenth save of the season.

Billingham helped out his own cause by belting a double, a single and an RBI.  Bill Plummer singled, scored and drove in a run.
