August 5, 1976 at Dodger Stadium 

Reds 3, Dodgers 2  (70-39)

The Reds didn’t waste much time getting back on track as they topped the Dodgers in a close game.  Fred Norman held the Dodgers to two runs on seven hits and he improved to 11-2 with the complete game.

Pete Rose had three hits and scored.  Tony Petez hit his twelth homerun of the season and scored twice.
