George Foster Continues to Hit Well in Win Over Padres

July 29, 1976 at Riverfront Stadium

Reds 9, Padres 3  (63-28)

The Reds jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead and never looked back as they ended their two game skid.  George Foster hit his 21st homerun of the season and drove in three runs and Joe Morgan went two for three with two walks, four runs, two RBIs and he hit his nineteenth homerun of the season.

Pat Zachry coasted to an easy win.  He gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.  Rawly Eastwick had a long relief outing but got the job done.  He shut the Padres out over 3 1/3 innings and gave up only two hits.
