Rookie starter Santo Alcala was solid and the Reds scored two runs in the eighth to win this one.  Alcalca improved to 9-2 with the complete game and gave up one run on seven hits and five walks with four strikeouts.

George Foster drove in two runs and Joe Morgan singled, scored and stole his 29th base of the season
