Reds Held to Five Hits in Loss to Mets

July 20, 1976 at Riverfront Stadium
Mets 2, Reds 1 (57-25)

Jerry Koosman held the Reds to one run on five hits as the Reds four game winning streak came to an end. Pete Rose hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the first to account for the only Reds run.

Gary Nolan was effective but he took the loss without any run support. He dropped to 8-5 and gave up two runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.
