Reds 5, Giants 4 (21-13)
Rawly Eastwick got out of a huge jam in the bottom of the ninth inning to avert a come from behind win for the Giants. After giving up two runs, Eastwick had a runner at first base with only one out and got both Bobby Murcer and Gary Matthews to fly out to center to end the game.
Santo Alcala picked up the win and improved to 3-0 on the season. He gave up two runs on six hits in 6 1/3 innings. Eastwick picked up his fifth save of the season despite the ninth inning troubles.
