Reds Run Up the Score at Wrigley Field

May 8, 1976 at Wrigley Field

Reds 14, Cubs 4  (14-10)

The Reds finally got the bats going in a blow out win over the Cubs.  The Reds scored 14 times and had sixteen hits and eight walks.

George Foster went three for five and came a homer short of hitting for the cycle.  He drove in three and scored twice.  Tony Perez and Dave Concepcion both had three hits and two RBIs while Ken Griffey went one for four with two walks, two RBIs and three runs.

Santo Alacala made his first start of the season and while he got into trouble in the first inning by giving up three runs, he held the Cubs hitless in the next six inning.  He improved to 1-0 on the season and struck out two Cubs.
