Jack Billingham Pitches Reds to 3-1 Win Over Cubs

May 7, 1976 at Wrigley Field 

Reds 3, Cubs 1  (13-10)

The Reds couldn’t get the bats going again but Jack Billingham picked the offense up by have a spectacular start.  He improved to 3-2 and gave up a single run on eight hits in seven innings of work.  Rawly Eastwick held the Cubs hitless through the final two innings and he earned his third save of the season.

Tony Perez had two hits and he drove in two of the Reds’ three runs.  Bill Plummer had two hits and Pete Rose singled, drove in a run and walked twice.
