Don Gullett Throws Strong in Reds Win

May 1, 1976 at Riverfront Stadium

Reds 6, Expos 1  (11-7)

The Reds made it two in a row behind a strong start by Don Gullett, who gave up a single run on only four hits with eight strikeouts in eight innings of work.  Pat Zachry came in and held the Expos hitless in the ninth.

Johnny Bench hit his fifth homerun of the season.  It was a big three run shot that opened the game up for the Reds in the fifth inning.  Dan Driessen went yard for the first time this season and scored two runs while Dave Concepcion had two singles.
