Reds Win Fourth Straight to Open Season

April 13, 1976 at Fulton County Stadium

Reds 6, Braves 1  (4-0)

The Reds extended their season opening winning streak to four game by topping the Braves.  With the Braves up 1-0 in the seventh, the Reds scored a single run in the seventh to tie things up, then they scored five in the eighth to bust the game open.

Gary Nolan was excellent in six innings of work but didn’t get the decision.  Fred Norman got the win and Rawly Eastwick held the Braves scoreless in the final two frames.

Pete Rose had two hits, a run and an RBI and Ken Griffey had two hits and two RBIs.  Dave Concepcion hit the solo shot that tied the game up in the seventh and later scored in the eighth after being given an intentional pass.
