September 19, 1975 Reds 7, Braves 6 (101-53)
Another close game as the Reds came one win closer to tying a franchise record 102 wins. The Reds jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the fifth, but the Braves cut the margin to two runs by scoring three in the bottom of the fifth. The Reds got an insurance run in the seventh, which they ended up needing because the Braves cut the deficit to a single run by scoring two runs in the eighth. Fortunately, Will McEnaney slammed the door shut in the ninth as he walked away with his fifteenth save of the season.
Dave Concepcion had a big game with a double, a homerun, two walks, two stolen bases, a run and an RBI. Terry Crowley had a bases clearing double that capped off the Reds big fifth inning and Merv Rettenmund went two for two with a run.
Starter Pat Darcy notched his eleventh win of the season by throwing six innings. He gave up four runs on eight hits. Less then 4,300 fans showed up at Atlanta Stadium to see the Braves and Reds play.
