September 18, 1975 Reds 4, Braves 3 (100-53)
It took extra innings, but the Reds finally won their 100th game for the third time in franchise history. It was also their first back to back wins in over almost two weeks.
The Braves jumped out to an early 2-0 lead when George Foster and Dan Driessen hit solo homerun to tie the game. The Reds added a run in the fifth when Tony Perez hit a solo homerun of his own.
The Reds left the seventh inning stretch with a one run lead, but the Braves tied it up in the eighth with a run off of Rawly Eastwick. In extra frames, the Reds didn’t waste much time. Bill Plummer drove home Pete Rose with a single to take a 4-3 lead.
Pedro Borbon threw two shutout innings in the ninth and tenth to walk away with his ninth win of the season. Clay Kirby was solid through 6 2/3 innings and gave up only two runs on five hits in the start.
