Reds Top Phillies, Tony Perez Homers

May 23, 1975 Reds 5, Phillies 2 (22-20)

A two run shot by Tony Perez in the first inning put the Reds out in front for good. It was his seventh of the season. George Foster had a nice game as well, going three for four and scoring twice.

Gary Nolan pitched a solid, going 6 1/3 while giving up only seven hits and two runs. Clay Carroll closed out the game and earned his third save of the season.
