Reds Shutout Again, Lose Seven Hitter to Steve Carlton

May 14, 1975 Phillies 4, Reds 0 (18-16)

It was a carbon copy of yesterday’s game, as the Reds had the misfortune of going up against two future hall of famers in a three game span.

Steve Carlton held the Reds to seven hits. Surprisingly, they did tag him for four doubles, but none of those came around to score.

Joe Morgan was the hitting star, going two for four. Reliever Pedro Borbon was shelled in the eighth, giving up six hits and two runs in one inning of relief.
