Mets Edge Reds, Ride Tom Seaver’s Strong Outing

May 11, 1975 Mets 3, Reds 2 (18-14)

It’s tough winning when you’re facing one of the best pitchers ever. And Tom Seaver was true to form, as he shut down the Reds. Pete Rose did tag him for a solo shot to lead off the game, and Dan Driessen drove in a run with a sacrafice fly to put the Reds up 2-0. But after that first inning, Seaver gave up a mere three hits the rest of the game.

The Mets scattered their three runs over three seperate innings, They finally gave Seaver the lead in the bottom of the eighth when Rusty Staub singled in a run.
